In the weeks leading up to Christmas, a tangled web of romantic relationships unfolds as eight interconnected stories explore the complexities of love and relationships. The film opens on the morning after a British general election, where Prime Minister David (Hugh Grant) is struggling to come to terms with his party's defeat. As he navigates the emotional fallout, he develops an unexpected crush on his new assistant, Natalie (Martine McCutcheon).
